Apply in person or online. - Meet the Pets
Visit the shelter and find your perfect match. - Application Review
Most applications are reviewed within one business day. - Meet & Greet (if needed)
Required for dog adoptions with resident dogs. - Take Your New Best Friend Home!
Complete paperwork, pay the adoption fee, and head home together.
Important Notes
- Current pets in the home must be up to date on vaccines
- Landlord/homeownership verification may be required
- Cats must leave in a carrier (cardboard carriers can be purchased for $10)
- Dogs go home with a leash and collar
We are excited to partner with Whiskers & Manes at Wolfe Ranch of Quakerdale to give some of our adoptable cats a cozy, welcoming place to meet potential families. Visitors can spend time with cats in a relaxed lounge setting, giving each cat a chance to show off their personality outside of the shelter environment.
Cats at Whiskers & Manes are available for adoption through the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown. The adoption process is the same as adopting from the shelter: complete an adoption application, wait for approval, and then schedule a pick-up time with our team.
